Earlier today we walked out of a restaurant. Our friend Nick will well understand this as will the Scannell’s, but we got seated and waited and didn’t like the menu or the service, so we left. Tonight, we had a fabulous dinner in the Old Town Square. Dance 2009 Bohemia was performing in the Square and we got to see some traditional folk dances and hear some very out of tune violin playing to accompany open-throat singing. We also got to see the sounding of the Astronomical Clock at 7 PM. That was cute. After dinner we went to Schtarbooks for café and met Boritza the Barista from Bohemia. I think it was his first night as he didn’t have a clue what to do. It took 10 minutes for 2 Café Americanos. Ellen’s was eye-shist and he just couldn’t figure out what to do first. Then, they wanted to write on our cups and wanted a name…Argh!. I hate that. I wanted to give them a phony Prague name, but I said “Ellen”. Everything was in English but the cost. The 2 coffees cost 140 somethings. I never spent 140 anythings at a Schtarbooks. Not even when I took the entire music theatre workshop to Starbucks at Rider. That was under a $100.
So $140 somethings was a splurge. After, we walked some more, bought some souvenirs and came back to the hotel.
